Hello, World. 🙋🏻♀This introvert and semi-hermit misses venturing outside the village boundaries, being out all day (but not every day😅), and talking to other people. Doing my errands, groceries, movie/Timezone dates, eating greasy fries and sharing a heaping of red velvet ice cream or matcha dessert with my best buddy, spending over an hour scouring the shelves of Booksale and thrift stores with a friend, buying flowers outside the church, rare out-of-town trips, trying out a new restaurant, dressing up nice and wearing bright lipstick, and yes--even my usual commute. Simple things that spark joy.💗 I hope I'll have days like those again despite knowing that things won't go back to exactly how they were before COVID (PARTLY a relief because there's an opportunity to reimagine, rethink, rebuild, and restart how we do things, relate with people, and treat this world we live in) and despite not knowing what the new "normal" would look like when it's safe to be out and about again. But there is always hope, friends. Remember that, hold on to that as tight as you hold on to the ones you love every day even when there are moments when it seems difficult to see past through darkness, fears, and uncertainty. 🌄
This was an ordinary grocery day back in December when empty grocery shelves, social distancing, quarantine passes, being a Tribute on market day, and the president ordering to shoot people who are hungry and helpless would've sounded like something out of a post-apocalyptic YA book and not a reality.
Happy Palm Sunday! 🌄 No palaspas this year, but my soul is doing the waving instead. 👩🏻🌾 Sharing today's Simple Abundance read (and personal musings) which is about authenticity vs. reinvention.
