You are so afraid of your own heart,
but you know what it is telling you.
You are afraid of what others would say and think,
but a chance at happiness is knocking at your door.
You are afraid of uncertainties,
but you want to hold on to hope.
You are afraid of losing me,
but you keep your love to yourself.
I do not have the desire to tell you what to do–
to give you the answers,
to ease your guilt and pain.
But I can shine a light on you:
Hope flickers within the heart.
And nothing is set in stone.
I would choose you when you choose me.
I would fight for you when you would fight for me.
I would listen when you wish to speak.
When you want to, when you are ready.
